Office is open Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.- 5 p.m.  The Chamber's self-service visitor information center in Centro Plaza on Hwy 434 (Mountain View Blvd) is always open to provide information regarding Chamber members, area activities and attractions, local hiking/bicycling/ATV trail maps, highway maps, visitor guides, business locator maps and more.

Year round population: 1,048 (per the 2000 census) with an estimate of 800 seasonal residents.

What is the elevation of Angel Fire?   Base elevation is 8,382 feet; summit elevation of the ski mountain is 10,677 feet.

How did Angel Fire get it's name? The Village of Angel Fire got it’s name from the Moache Utes. Seeing mysterious tongues of red and orange licking at the morning sky, one of the elders claimed it was the “fire of the gods”. Later Franciscan friars interpreted the Ute's “fire of the gods” as “the place of the fire of the angel”.

When do the leaves usually change color in the fall? Normally between late September to mid to late October. Call the National Forest Fall Color Hot Line for current and predicted conditions: 800-354-4595 (when listening to the recording note that New Mexico is in the southwest region.)

Fall (mid-Sept to mid-Nov) & Spring Seasons (from April to mid-May) are slower times of the year. Some restaurants and shops may be closed these months.

What is the nearest commercial airport?
Albuquerque International Airport 150 miles S.W. of Angel Fire, an easy and scenic 3 hour drive.
Limited commercial flights connect to Santa Fe.

Where do we dispose our garbage? In the nearest empty dumpster, or at the Solid Waste Transfer & Recycling Facility off t 85 Camino Grande (off Mountain View Blvd/Hwy 434), just south of the Angel Fire Airport. Recycle corrugated cardboard and aluminum cans. Phone: 377-6967. Hours of operation: 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily. Closed on Sundays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.

Where is the Angel Fire Post Office located? in the Inn Business Center on Mountain View Blvd & Elliott Barker Lane. Post Office phone number: 377-7216.

Day Care: Angel Fire Resort Day Care, 377-4213, located on North Angel Fire Road (near the Chile Express chairlift) next to the Children's ski school building, open 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. daily, immunization records required.
